CAMP YAWATINK REGISTRATION

March 7, 8, 9, 2008

Summer took its sweet time getting here this year but it’s been a beautiful July and August.  And, now, for the 12th year, registration time is here for our Camp Yawatink (formerly Camp Knitaway) Retreat in March 2008.   As our days start to get shorter, it’ll be time to start preparing for another wonderful weekend of knitting and enjoying friends.

Our instructor this year is Evelyn Clark. You have probably seen her wonderful designs in knitting magazines and Fiber Trends.  The theme will be lace knitting.  Our weekend begins on Friday morning with activities devoted to meeting and getting to know new campers and catching up with old friends.  Saturday evening we’ll have fun with show-and-tell and relaxing with our knitting projects.

Camp Yawatink participation is limited to 40 people.  To be fair to all, registrations sent by mail MUST HAVE A POSTMARKED DATE of Wednesday, SEPTEMBER 05, 2007 or later.  Registrations brought to the shop by hand will not be accepted before Wednesday, September 05, 2007.  If more than 40 registrations with payments are received with a postmark or date stamp of September 05, 2007 and/or in the store on that date, a lottery will be used to determine who will be the 40 campers.  The lottery will also determine the order in which the balance of the registrants will be wait-listed.  All registrants will be notified of the outcome of the lottery and their individual standing on the wait list.

The fee for attending Camp Yawatink is $235.00 for the entire weekend.  $117.50, half of the fee, must be included with the registration form in order to be considered registered.  The second half of the fee, $117.50, is due before January 15, 2008.  Mail your registration form with $117.50 to the address below:  (Your second payment in January 2008 should be mailed to this same address.)  Camp Yawatink, c/o Gloria Siechen, 1616 Skyline Way, #9, Anacortes, WA  98221.

In addition to the cost for the weekend, each attendee will be required to bring a 12” by 12” square knitted with a washable, wool/acrylic blend yarn, e.g. Encore worsted.  Because the squares will be combined to create friendship afghans for Camp Brotherhood, please make sure your square is as close to the 12” by 12” size as possible.  Please feel free to ask for more details.
